Robert Anderson worked for 44 years in Virginia as a sports writer, most recently as the high school sports editor at The Roanoke Times. before retiring in June. He has won multiple Virginia Press Association awards for sports writing portfolio and has been honored nationally by The Associated Press Sports Editors. Anderson is a North Carolina native and a graduate of Martinsville High School in Virginia and Emory & Henry College, where he was the runner-up in the inaugural Old Dominion Athletic Conference tennis championship.
