Three Montgomery County boards will meet Monday and Tuesday to discuss budgets, jobs and economic development.

Budgets topic for joint supervisors and school board meeting Monday night

County supervisors and school board members will meet jointly Monday, March 16, at 7 p.m. in multi-purpose room 2 at the county government center, 755 Roanoke St., Christiansburg.

County staff will provide information on the proposed budget for fiscal 2026-27, which begins July 1. School division staff will provide information on the proposed upcoming schools budget. Then the boards will discuss the details, according to the agenda.

No budget documents are available before the meeting.

Tuesday EDA goes into closed session

The county Economic Development Authority will meet Tuesday, March 17, at 11:30 a.m. in the same location as the joint supervisors-school board meeting.

The agenda states that the board will go into a closed meeting to discuss three economic development projects that have not yet been publicly announced. It does not indicate whether any action will be taken following the closed session.

The authority also will discuss the second phase of construction at the Falling Branch Corporate Park, along with reviewing a Falling Branch landscaping cost estimate of more than $43,700 from Valley Landscaping of Radford.
