The system’s first chancellor died in June at age 100. A public memorial service will be held Saturday.

Nancy Finch is a native of Radford who has reported for the Radford News Journal, the Waynesboro News-Virginian, the Daily Progress and the Richmond Times-Dispatch. She has also served as Information Director for the Virginia Community College System, worked part-time as info director for J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College, Legislative Liaison for George Mason University and is the former Executive Director, Virginians for High Speed Rail. She lives in Richmond.
