The Blue Ridge Music Center is presenting the Slocan Ramblers and Nobody’s Business for an evening of bluegrass, old-time and classic country at 7 p.m., Saturday, August 20, in the outdoor amphitheater. The Music Center is located at milepost 213 on the Blue Ridge Parkway, just south of Galax.
The Slocan Ramblers are a Canadian bluegrass band. The group claimed the 2020 IBMA Momentum Band of the Year Award and were Juno Award nominees in 2019, the Canadian equivalent of the Grammies.
Opening the show is Nobody’s Business. The group plays traditional first generation bluegrass, old time and classic country music. The band members are Trevor McKenzie on fiddle, Stu Geisbert on bass, Corbin Hayslett on banjo, and Jackson Cunningham on guitar.
Tickets are $20 for adults, children 12 and younger admitted free. Advance tickets are available at BlueRidgeMusicCenter.org. Tickets can be purchased on the evening of the show at the admission gates.
Parking opens at 5:15 p.m. and is free. Admission to the amphitheater begins at 5:45 p.m.
The Galax Smokehouse will offer barbecue, home-style sides, and beverages for purchase during the concert.
