Meredith Dean
Meredith Dean brings forty years of experience in community and political organizing to her present work as the National Director of the Rural Urban Bridge Initiative's Community Works program. A lifelong Democrat, Meredith served as chair of her local Democratic Committee, Field Director for a VA 9th District congressional campaign, and the founding director of a nonprofit dedicated to empowering Appalachian women to actively engage in Democracy. She and her husband have raised their son, 13 cats, four dogs and a horse near her family’s southwest Virginia homeplace of eight generations.
