In a letter notifying John Rocovich of his firing, the governor accused him of conduct that violated the board’s code of ethics and governing statutes “requiring board members to act in accordance with the best interest of Virginia Tech.” Rocovich pushed back, saying the governor’s actions are “legally unsupportable.”
