Shifting energy policies with expansive, unclear mandates create uncertainty and could ultimately harm our ability to compete with other regions. While access to clean, reliable and affordable energy alone is no guarantee of future economic success, its absence will almost certainly forestall future investment in the region.

Hull is executive director of the Roanoke Regional Partnership. The Partnership, founded in 1983, is the public-private economic development marketing and strategy organization supported by Alleghany, Botetourt, Franklin, and Roanoke Counties, the Cities of Covington, Roanoke, and Salem, and the Town of Vinton as well as more than 140 businesses.
