The Montgomery County Planning Commission aims to vote Wednesday on approving plans for two subdivisions.
The board will meet at 7 p.m. in the county government center, 755 Roanoke St., Christiansburg.
Commissioners will vote on the final plat for section two of the third phase of the Walnut Creek subdivision. The development is off Houchins Road near the Christiansburg industrial park.
Section two of the third phase plans for development of 37 single-family townhouse residential lots and more than two acres of designated open space. Water service will come from the town of Christiansburg, while sewer service will be provided by the county Public Service Authority.
In 2005, county supervisors agreed to rezone 108 acres for the development of the Walnut Creek subdivision. At that time, the county stipulated that the development would include no more than 157 single-family detached units and no more than 168 townhouse units. Plans call for a total of five phases of development.
Supervisors voted late last month to approve the first section of phase three. It will include 26 townhouse lots. The planning commission approved the first section at its August meeting.
The planning commission is also set to vote on the final plat for phase one of the Capstone subdivision.
The development will be in the county, adjacent to the Blacksburg town limits and the Blacksburg municipal golf course.
Phase one will consist of 18 single-family detached residential lots and more than two acres of dedicated open space, according to planning staff. The lots will be served by private wells and septic systems.
