Cardinal News is launching a new initiative, Cardinal Connects, and will be holding a series of open houses throughout our region. These will be followed with regular coffee shop hours for reporters and for the development team.
The first open house will be 2 to 4 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 6 at Crema & Vine in Danville.
The public is welcome to come and talk with executive director Luanne Rife, executive editor Dwayne Yancey, managing editor Megan Schnabel, Danville reporter Grace Mamon, development director Dutchie Mirolli and sponsorship manager Sherry Quinley.
Open house events have been scheduled for:
2-4 p.m., Feb. 6: Crema & Vine, Danville
2-4 p.m., Feb. 12: Ground Floor, Martinsville
5-7 p.m., Feb. 22: Twisted Track, Roanoke
2-4 p.m., Feb. 28: Coffeeholics, Blacksburg
2-4 p.m., March 4: Market Place at Main, Lynchburg
2-4 p.m., March 8: Bloom, Bristol
We also hold community meetings so that you can come and learn more about Cardinal, and we, too, can learn more about you.
Our reporters will be holding regular office hours around the region to talk with people about news stories and tips.
Our development team will hold similar office hours to talk with business and civic people about how they can connect with our readers through sponsorships.
