Saturday, Oct. 1, 7 p.m. – Western Centuries Live 

Live at The Floyd Country Store – Tickets are $18.50

Western Centuries is a Seattle-based roots band.

Tuesday, Oct. 4, 5 p.m. – Bluegrass and Dinner with Jesse Smathers & Friends

Live at The Floyd Country Store – Free admission (suggested donation $10)

Jesse Smathers is a member of the Lonesome River Band. Admission is free with tips appreciated.

Saturday, Oct. 8, 7:30 p.m. – Darrell Scott Live

Live at The Floyd Country Store – Tickets are $38

Darrell Scott toured with Robert Plant and the Zac Brown Band (two years with each) and produced albums for Malcolm Holcomb and Guy Clark.

Sunday, Oct. 9, 7 p.m. –  Missy Raines & Allegheny Live

Live at The Floyd Country Store – Tickets are $17.50

Grammy-nominated Missy Raines is a bluegrass bassist — she was the first woman ever named Bass Player of the Year award by the International Bluegrass Music Association. Her band Allegheny is a bluegrass ensemble featuring banjo, fiddle, mandolin, guitar and bass. 

Tuesday, Oct. 11, 7 p.m. – Béla Fleck & Abigail Washburn Live (sold out)

Live at The Floyd Country Store – Tickets are $49 (sold out) 

Béla Fleck is a 15-time Grammy Award winner.

Saturday, Oct. 15, 7 p.m. – Old Time Dance with The New Ballards Branch Bogtrotters

Live at The Floyd Country Store – Tickets are $10 (Friends & Fixtures cardholder tickets are $5-$8, available at the door)

The New Ballards Branch Bogtrotters play in the traditional Appalachian string-band style with Eddie Bond on fiddle, Dennis Hall on guitar, Josh Ellis on clawhammer banjo, Bonnie Bond on bass, and Caroline Noel Beverley on mandolin.

Sunday, Oct. 16, 7 p.m. – Ralph Stanley II & The Clinch Mountain Boys Celebrate 76 Years of the Stanley Brothers 

Live at The Floyd Country Store – Tickets are $25

Grammy Award-winning artist Ralph Stanley II, son of Ralph Stanley of The Stanley Brothers, began working professionally for his father in 1995 and has carried on his band The Clinch Mountain Boys ever since. This event celebrates the 76th anniversary of the Stanley Brothers’ first gig.

Monday, Oct. 17 – Monday, Nov. 7, 6:30-8 p.m. – Southwest Virginia Old Time Style & Repertoire with Mac Traynham and Andy Buckman

Class held at the Floyd Country Store – Cost is $90 for four weeks

This is a four-week class on Southwest Virginia old time style and repertoire with Mac Traynham and Andy Buckman. The class begins Oct. 17 from 6:30-8 p.m. and runs weekly through Nov. 7. The class is geared toward advanced beginner/intermediate students.

Saturday, Oct. 22, 7 p.m. – Jeff Little Trio Live

Live at The Floyd Country Store – Tickets are $22.50

Jeff Little is an award-winning musician from the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. He is celebrated and credited as an “instrument innovator” for integrating the piano into Americana and Appalachian music as a lead instrument. The Jeff Little Trio also includes Steve Lewis on acoustic guitar, five-string banjo and vocals, and Luke Little on mandolin and acoustic guitar.

Saturday, Oct. 29, 7 p.m. – Halloween Dance Party with Whitetop Mountain Band

Live at The Floyd Country Store – Tickets are $12 (Friends & Fixtures cardholder tickets are $5-$8, available at the door)

The Whitetop Mountain Band is a family-based band.

Honky Tonk Thursdays

The Floyd Country Store clears the floor for dancing to some of the best honky tonk and classic country music, most often hosted by the master telecaster player Redd Volkaert and his band. Live at The Floyd Country Store. Free; suggested donation of $10

The Friday Night Jamboree

For over 35 years, the tradition of the Friday Night Jamboree has been celebrated on The Floyd Country Store stage. Energetic string bands play lively tunes for flatfoot dancing, mixed with slower numbers for two-steps. The night beings with a gospel set at 6:30 p.m., and the dance music starts at 7:30 and continues until 10 p.m. Tickets are available at the door starting at 4:45 p.m., $8 admission ($5 kids under 12, under 6 free). Some reserved seating is available for $15 per seat (inclusive of ticketing fees), and limited seating is available.

Each week, our old-time jam includes rotating host bands who lead tunes at a moderate speed — traditional instruments and dancers welcome!

Our bluegrass jam rotates hosts who lead the group in traditional bluegrass songs and tunes, with selections and solos going around the circle.
