Harvester Performance Center has added Drive-By Truckers frontman Patterson Hood to its December lineup.
Hood will perform a solo acoustic show in Rocky Mount on Saturday, Dec. 10, at 8 p.m.
Hood is a prolific writer and performer whose character-driven stories are packed with political subtext. In addition to his work with Drive-By Truckers, Hood is busy as a solo performer and producer. He has dropped three solo albums and co-produced or played on additional projects by Jerry Joseph, Bettye LaVette, Booker T. Jones and The Dexateens.
While he is best known as a musician, Hood is also a writer of essays, columns and short stories, having been published by The New York Times Magazine, The Oxford American, American Songwriter and NPR. As a speaker and lecturer, he has spoken and conducted classes at Princeton, The University of Indiana, The University of Georgia and The University of Alabama.
Tickets for Hood’s performance at the Harvester go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday at harvester-music.com
