Siena covers the city of Bristol (where she is based) plus five nearby Southwest Virginia counties: Washington, Smyth, Wythe, Russell and Tazewell. She started her career as a city reporter at the Chattanooga Times Free Press after graduating with a journalism degree from the University of Florida. There, she won a Tennessee A-Mark prize for over a dozen stories about a secretive county land swap deal. Before that, she interned at the Salt Lake Tribune, the Tampa Bay Times, the Miami Herald and POLITICO. She was raised in the Florida panhandle, where she enjoyed kayaking and spotting alligators across the swampy landscape. Now, she’s exploring the Appalachians and listening to a lot of bluegrass.
