As temperatures climb this week, the city of Lynchburg will operate cooling centers with free bottled water every day through Friday at the following locations:
- The lobby of the Department of Human Services building on Ninth Street;
- The Miller Center on Grove Street, at both the first floor library hub entrance and the second floor customer service desk;
- The downtown branch of the Lynchburg Public Library on 12th Street;
- The Salvation Army on Park Avenue;
- The Refuge on Memorial Avenue.
Updates on cooling center locations and their hours are available on the city’s website.
