Tate expansion will bring 35 new jobs to Russell County

Tate, a company that manufactures infrastructure components for data centers, has purchased and renovated the former Alcoa building in Lebanon, where it is expanding its manufacturing operation and will create 35 full-time jobs over the next three years.

The 131,000-square-foot facility is located on about 11 acres adjacent to U.S. 19 and is 18 miles from Tate’s existing site in St. Paul, according to a news release from the Virginia Coalfield Economic Development Authority, or VCEDA.

The acquisition and renovation of the building was a collaborative effort led by the Russell County Industrial Development Authority and VCEDA, which approved a loan of up to $4 million earlier this year. Tate will lease the facility, the news release states.

The Lebanon location expands Tate’s North American production footprint and strengthens its manufacturing resiliency, according to the release.

“Growing our presence in Russell County allows us to create new jobs and contribute to the region’s long-term economic vitality,” Daniel Kennedy, global president of cloud solutions and innovation with Tate, said in the release. “We’re proud to continue investing in a community that plays a key role in supporting the nation’s digital infrastructure.”

Tate, which is headquartered in Columbia, Maryland, manufactures data center systems, including modular aisle containment, raised access floors, structural ceilings, airflow management solutions and liquid-cooling technologies.
