Thursday will mark 19 years since 32 students, faculty, and staff were murdered on Virginia Tech’s campus.

Two events in Blacksburg and 19 nationwide through alumni chapters are scheduled. More details can be found at www.weremember.vt.edu.

Candlelight vigil at April 16 Memorial on Drillfield Drive.

  • 12 a.m. 24-hour memorial candle lit
  • 9:43 a.m. Wreath laying and moment of silence
  • 11:47 p.m. Virginia Tech Corps of Cadets will stand guard at the memorial for 32 minutes
  • 11:59 p.m. 24-hour memorial candle extinguished

Saturday, April 18

  • 9 a.m. 3.2 for 32 Run in Remembrance, starting at War Memorial Hall, 601 Drillfield Dr.
  • 1:30 p.m. Memorial service at War Memorial Hall, 601 Drillfield Dr.
