EDITOR’S NOTE: This story was updated Jan. 26 to reflect a second postponement of Christiansburg’s town council meeting.

They say time’s undefeated, but sometimes the weather manages to push time around a little.

Christiansburg Town Council’s meeting was rescheduled from Monday to Tuesday (then later rescheduled again), Radford’s city council meeting will also move to Tuesday if Radford closes its city offices on Monday, while Blacksburg is keeping its regular Tuesday town council meeting in place for now.

Christiansburg: public hearing Feb. 3 on Wing’s drone delivery test

The Christiansburg Town Council regular meeting originally rescheduled from Monday,
Jan. 26, to Tuesday, Jan. 27, at 7 p.m. due to winter weather, will now meet on Tuesday, Feb. 3. The meeting will include public hearings on a franchise agreement with broadband provider GigaBeam Networks and a lease of public property for Wing’s drone test delivery zone. The agenda did not include additional information about the franchise agreement or lease. The meeting is open to the public and will take place at the Christiansburg Town Hall
at 100 E. Main St. The meeting will also be livestreamed on the Town of Christiansburg’s YouTube channel.


Blacksburg: Interim council members could be sworn in

The Blacksburg Town Council regular meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 27, at
6:30 p.m. No public hearings are scheduled. The council will make a final vote on the
interim appointments of Joel Goodhart and Andrew Kassoff to the two vacant council
seats. If approved, Goodhart and Kassoff will be sworn in immediately following the
vote.

The meeting is open to the public and will take place at the Blacksburg Municipal Building at 300 S. Main St. The meeting will also be livestreamed on the Town of Blacksburg’s YouTube channel.


Radford to consider proposed subdivision of land that could lead to business development

Radford City Council’s regular meeting was rescheduled from Monday to Tuesday, Jan. 27, at 7 p.m.

The meeting will include consideration of Tall Oak Ventures’ request to subdivide a parcel of 11.7-plus acres located on the corner of Tyler Avenue and Rock Road. The proposed subdivision would allow for additional business development and meets all zoning requirements. The meeting is open to the public and will take place in the council chambers at 10 Robertson St.
