A manufacturer of heating and cooling products will invest $19.6 million and create 57 new jobs as it expands its Buena Vista facility, the governor’s office said Thursday.

The investment is anticipated to be complete in 2029, according to a news release from Gov. Glenn Youngkin.

“Modine is proud of our long partnership with the City of Buena Vista, having operated our manufacturing facility here for more than 60 years. We are excited to build on that legacy with this new investment in our operations and testing facilities,” Modine Heating General Manager Matt Niebur said in the news release.

Youngkin approved a $300,000 state grant to assist with the project. The company’s job recruitment and training will be supported by a state consulting program.

According to the news release, Modine is relocating the headquarters of its heating business from Wisconsin to Buena Vista as part of the expansion.

Modine’s heating business makes “energy-efficient gas-fired, electric, hydronic, and oil-fired heating systems for commercial, industrial, and residential spaces,” according to the release.

In March 2024, officials announced that Modine would invest $18.1 million and create 200 jobs at its Rockbridge County facility, where it makes cooling equipment for data centers.

Officials said at that time that the company employed about 75 people at the Rockbridge County site and about 300 in Buena Vista. A company spokesperson on Thursday declined to provide newer employment figures.

Racine, Wisconsin-based Modine (NYSE:MOD) employs more than 11,000 people across 14 countries, according to a recent fact sheet for investors.

“Modine’s continued growth and investment are a tremendous vote of confidence in Buena Vista,” Buena Vista Mayor Tyson Cooper said in Thursday’s news release.
