On Monday, residents can attend a public meeting to hear about highway improvements that will be coming to their areas soon.

The Virginia Department of Transportation, Roanoke County and the 419 Town Center will be partnering on a “Parden Our Dust” public information meeting regarding U.S. 220 and Virginia 419 intersection improvements.

Interested residents can attend to learn about projects that will be starting near them in 2025, including:

  • A replacement of the interchange of Virginia 419 and U.S. 220 in the city of Roanoke and in Roanoke County with a diverging diamond interchange, to address traffic congestion.
  • Providing added green time for higher-demand areas on: Virginia 419, Ogden Road, Elm View Road, South Peak Boulevard, Valley Avenue/Southern Hills Drive, Crossbow Circle/Pheasant Ridge Rock, Buck Mountain/Stable Road and Indian Grave Road/Clearbrook Village Lane. Side street traffic will also be redirected.

The session runs from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday at the South County Library Auditorium.
