New bus route connects Danville with N.C. Triad

A new intercity bus route will connect Danville to North Carolina’s Triad.

The Triad-Danville Connector will run between Danville and Winston-Salem, North Carolina, with stops in Greensboro and Reidsville.

It will be offered twice a day, seven days a week, and will connect to the Virginia Breeze Piedmont Express and Capital Connector intercity bus routes, as well as to North Carolina’s Mountaineer East-West Route.

Passengers can buy tickets on the website of the route operator, Sunway Charters; through Greyhound; and through the Virginia Breeze ticketing site.

The sites currently show one-way fares of $12 between Danville and Winston-Salem and $8 between Danville and Greensboro, plus booking fees.

Jones Memorial Library unveils digital collection of Virginia history and genealogy

Jones Memorial Library, a specialized genealogy and history library in Lynchburg, has launched a new digital collections platform.

More than 35,000 historical items are now available online to the public for the first time, the library said in a news release.

The digital collections include manuscripts, pamphlets and family files, and architectural plans for Lynchburg buildings. The library has digitized thousands of photographs, including portraits taken at Parker Studios and images taken by Lynchburg News & Advance photographers between the 1940s and 1980s.

Final acts added to Rooster Walk lineup

Lettuce, Keller Williams, Dangermuffin and Ghost-Note round out the 2025 Rooster Walk lineup, organizers said Tuesday in announcing the final acts for the May festival.

They’ll join previously announced acts, including Daniel Donato, Andy Frasco & The U.N., and Yarn and Little Stranger, at the festival, scheduled for May 22-25 at Pop’s Farm in Martinsville.
